I went out to the AMC Nacogdoches yesterday for a matinee showing of The Kitchen. I’m usually a fan of gangster / mob movies, especially set in the 1970s & 1980s, so I thought I would check this one. It’s based on a DC / Vertigo comic book that I have not read. And, after watching the movie, I’m not in a rush to read it.

This movie was, to me, deathly dull. I liked the scenes with the Italian mobster, but the story of three women taking over Hell’s Kitchen just didn’t interest me in the least.

On the plus side, I was able to use my Stubs membership to see it, Nacogdoches offers dollar hot dogs, so I got a few of those instead of popcorn, and it was the one hundred & fiftieth “new to me” movie of the year.
